For more than three decades, Acoustic Alchemy has been at the forefront of contemporary jazz, even if the band’s eclectic mix of styles—which includes straight-ahead jazz, folk, rock, and genres from around the world—has meant the band has never snugly fit into any one genre. Since 1987, Acoustic Alchemy has held tight to one simple concept: the sound of the nylon- and steel-stringed guitars working together, an approach that leaves ample scope for exploring boundless musical ideas. Known for its sophisticated instrumental sound, the band has been nominated for three Grammys.
