The timing, swing, and the chemistry of these three virtuoso musicians . . . is a joy to behold.

Since the late 1990s, the Western swing and hot jazz trio the Hot Club of Cowtown has traveled the world, bringing its own brand of magical musical chemistry to audiences far and wide. Fiddler Elana James, guitarist Whit Smith, and bassist Jake Erwin blend jazz inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt (which accounts for the “Hot Club” portion of the band’s name) with the hoedowns, traditional tunes, and Western swing-inspired music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys (represented in the “Cowtown” of the name). The trio has created a legacy of preserving musical traditions often overlooked by the mainstream and alternative music worlds.
