Founded in 2011 by Elizabeth Bougerol and Evan Palazzo over a mutual love of Fats Waller, New York City hot jazz nonet the Hot Sardines skyrocketed from the wild underground parties of Brooklyn and have been touring their brand of reinvigorated classic jazz around the world behind a string of celebrated albums and more than 60 million digital streams. In August 2023, the band released C’est La Vie, a bilingual affair stocked with vintage jazz standards and originals with an early 20th-century flavor. The title track, an original bossa nova tune sung in Bougerol’s native French, is a timely ode to fully living each moment, even when you don’t know what the next will bring.
