Internship Openings

MIM is currently accepting applications for the following internships:

Internships are designed to:

  • Provide current college students with opportunities to work on specific projects under supervision of MIM staff.
  • Introduce interns to museum careers and the various departments, programs, and operations of a nonprofit organization.

Application Process

  • International students should provide a copy of their student visa.

An acknowledgement e-mail will be sent upon completion of online application. Interviews for candidates selected as finalists will be scheduled at MIM.

Eligibility

Internships at MIM are open to current college students (graduate and undergraduate) enrolled in an accredited degree program. Select internships may also be open to recent graduates; the specific job description will identify the eligibility requirements. MIM will consider students with freshman or sophomore status; however, priority will be given to undergraduate students completing their junior or senior year and postgraduate students.

Duration

Internships typically last for a complete semester; however, certain projects and internship positions may have a shorter or longer term. The specific job description will identify the duration of the internship. The manager and intern will work together to establish a work schedule that fits the needs of the department and the intern’s schedule.

Compensation and Course Credit

All interns will be compensated at the current minimum wage. Internships may or may not be eligible for college credit, based on the various college/university guidelines; it is the intern’s responsibility to make sure the internship meets these guidelines.
