Justin Karim launched his career in security at Target Corporation in Houston, Texas. During his eight years there, he was responsible for the safety, security, and operational integrity of several high-risk locations throughout Texas. In 2009, Karim joined the Musical Instrument Museum as director of operations and public programs until 2012, when he accepted a position as chief security officer at Apollo Education Group.
In 2016, Karim joined Amazon, where he oversaw physical security design policies and standards for the global Amazon organization. Currently, he is the leader for worldwide critical incident operations, which include crisis management, intelligence, large-scale events, law enforcement relations strategy, and multiple global operations centers.
Karim has served two terms as president of Arizona InfraGard, a public- and private-sector information nexus with the FBI. He was also vice president of the Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance and has served as a volunteer expert for community organizations on combating the trafficking and exploitation of minors.
Karim holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston.
