Free for K–12 string students and their teachers/chaperones
K–12 string students are invited to participate in a special workshop led by Grammy-winning bluegrass artist Mark O’Connor. String pedagogue and founder of the O’Connor Method, O’Connor will offer insights into performance and playing techniques for student musicians at any level. Following the workshop, students will have the opportunity to tour MIM and enjoy the museum’s galleries.
1:00 p.m. Students arrive
1:30 p.m. Workshop with Mark O’Connor
3:00 p.m. Self-guided tour of museum
String students and their teachers/chaperones participating in the workshop will be admitted free of charge. Space is limited, so students must register in advance. The workshop is also open for general museum guests to observe with paid museum admission.
