Free for educators
Preregistration is recommended
Music is a powerful tool to be harnessed at any age. Early childhood (from birth through age 8) educators will learn how to engage students in observation, discussion, and play through music. Participants will receive a set of developmentally appropriate lesson plans inspired by MIM’s collection. Activities support early childhood language, physical, and cognitive growth.
Participants receive a certificate for tracking professional development hours and a resource packet. On the day of the session, teachers can tour the museum and continue developing lesson plan ideas. This session augments MIM’s Sounds All Around and Musical Menagerie field trips or the self-guided Trailblazer field trip.
Standards Addressed
It was wonderful to have a class that was for preschool. Nothing has to be adapted. I can go into class on Monday and use the techniques!
