World-renowned jazz musicians Ken Peplowski and Diego Figueiredo team up to play the music of Charlie Byrd and Stan Getz’s landmark 1962 album Jazz Samba, which launched the Brazilian bossa nova craze in North America. The album topped the Billboard chart and introduced several standards of the genre, including “One Note Samba” and the Grammy-winning “Desafinado.”
Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo is one of the most talented guitar players in the world. He has won several prestigious competitions, including the Montreux Jazz Festival Guitar Competition and Brazil’s VISA Prize. Figueiredo’s unique interpretations, along with his phenomenal technique and emotion, have earned him adoring fans and concertgoers around the world.
Ken Peplowski is a leading jazz clarinetist and saxophonist. He has performed and recorded with Mel Tormé, Leon Redbone, Charlie Byrd, Peggy Lee, Benny Goodman, George Shearing, Madonna, James Moody, Steve Allen, and many more. Peplowski has recorded over 50 albums as a soloist and 400 as a sideman.
