Khani Cole’s soulful alto reveals uncommon emotion and strength.
—JazzTimes
Khani Cole is so consistently solid that it’s a little too easy to take her for granted.

Khani Cole’s Sonic Table is a celebration of three decades of the Khani Cole songbook presented in interesting and eclectic combinations of musicians and instrumentation.
Cole’s assent into the national and international consciousness began after relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, from her native Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1992. The move, which initiated many personal changes, sparked the inception of her very first release, Piece of My Soul, on Fahrenheit Records. Piece of My Soul was an album with great harmonic and lyrical depth and was quite a departure from the production and performance trends heard on NAC (smooth jazz) radio at that time. The release caught on nationwide, featuring jazz greats Brian Bromberg, Joey DeFrancesco, and Marc Russo, among others, as Cole and her band toured the summer of 1997 and were met with an overwhelming positive response.
Cole’s follow-up release, Places (Grammy-winning producer Michael Broening’s first outing), yielded a top twenty NAC radio hit, a cover of the classic Blood, Sweat & Tears hit, “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy.” Cole toured extensively throughout the United States and abroad, including some of the most prestigious venues and festivals, all while maintaining her brand in the Greater Phoenix area. With an eye on her European exposure, Expansion Records (Sony/3MV) released her Lifetime album, which quickly ascended the European radio charts. Her most recent release is a compilation of all three releases entitled A Collection. She has performed or shared billing with many prestigious musical figures, such as George Benson, Grover Washington Jr., and Joe Sample, among others.
