Lips Turn Blue, formerly known as DDRIVE, has regrouped and returned with a new name, a brilliant debut album, a record contract, and a new member in singer Iggy Marino. The band also includes guitarist Don Mancuso, keyboardist Eric Bieber, bassist Mike Mullane, and drummer Roy Stein. The group’s first single, “Pray for Tomorrow,” was released in February, with the album coming in April.
The band had just secured a worldwide record deal with MIG Records and had put the finishing touches on its debut album when vocalist and co-songwriter Phil Naro died in 2021 after battling cancer, putting the group’s future in doubt. An extensive search for a new vocalist led the band to Iggy Marino, a Nazareth College graduate whose instructors at the school included Stein and Lips Turn Blue manager Bruce Pilato, who teach music industry courses at the school.
