Walt Richardson is a kind of neighborhood good-vibe merchant who, for the better part of two decades, has fronted the much-adored Walt Richardson and Morning Star, a sundry-styled blend of happy-faced vets playing with aplomb a “world pop” that has added much color to . . . [the] Tempe music scene.

[Chartrand’s] brilliant combination of folk and Americana, with a touch of Southern rock, country and jazz, creates some of the sweetest sounds around.

Walt Richardson, Eric Ramsey, and Brian Chartrand are three Arizona-based songwriters with different styles and approaches. Join them for a night of top-notch music and entertaining stories behind the songs.
Brian Chartrand Internationally touring singer-songwriter Brian Chartrand has called the Valley of the Sun home since 2003. He tours all over the country and abroad and has had the pleasure of performing at the MIM Music Theater numerous times with his retrospective show “Live from Laurel Canyon” and his original bands the Sweet Remains and the Project. Chartrand lists James Taylor and Jeff Buckley as big influences on his original music.
Walt Richardson Walt Richardson is a celebrated music veteran in Arizona. He has toured extensively in the U.S. and has shared the stage with artists such as Carlos Santana, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, Third World, Steel Pulse, Burning Spear, and more.
Eric Ramsey With soaring vocals and organic arrangements, Eric Ramsey writes from experience, at times humorous and always thought-provoking. His arrangements and delivery encompass a spectrum of styles from delicate fingerpicking to raucous, bluesy bottleneck slide. Ramsey is a two-time champion of the Phoenix Blues Society’s Blues Showdown, a semifinalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, and a finalist in the Telluride Blues Challenge. He’s a past winner of the Stefan George Memorial (Tucson Folk Festival) Songwriting Competition and has been tapped for the prestigious Songwriter’s Showcase produced by Tempe Center for the Arts and filmed for PBS.
