Extraordinary jazz musicians the Anderson Brothers present the life and music of Cole Porter with an entertaining narrative and live performance featuring their sextet and special guest Andrew Walesch. Songs include “Night and Day,” “Begin the Beguine,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” and “Just One of Those Things.”
Identical twins Peter and Will Anderson are two of the most extraordinary jazz woodwind players today. Born and raised in Washington, DC, the Andersons have headlined the Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and 54 Below; have performed on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion; and can be heard on the Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire with Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks. They received a 2014 Drama Desk nomination for their off-Broadway show Le Jazz Hot and won a 2018 Bistro Award.
Pianist and vocalist Andrew Walesch, who is the artistic director of the MIM Music Theater, has a knack for finding and interpreting a great lyric, whether he is composing and arranging or performing as a solo artist or with his big band.
